Lifeguard Training

American Red Cross Lifeguard Training program teaches the skills needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies. Requirements: Students must be at least 15 years old. Students must be able to swim 300 yards as demonstrated BEFORE the first day of class (freestyle and breaststroke).

We offer the American Red Cross Lifeguard Training program at our branch. Lifeguard Training for groups available upon request. The class is $125 per participant and for recertification, it is $75 per participant.

The Hobart Family YMCA in partnership with Crossroads YMCA is hiring Aquatic Staff in positions like lifeguards, swim instructors, water fitness instructors, and attendants. For a limited time*, WE WILL PAY YOU $200 for completing lifeguard certification training. Stop at the front desk for more questions!

*Paid once hired. *Must complete eLearning portion prior to first in-person class and attend all classes at a branch.
