Celebrating Success with the 2019 Youth and Government™Team!

Leaders of Our Community

This evening we hosted our Annual Youth and Government™ Celebration. We want to send our love and many thanks to all of the students, volunteers, donors, Hobart Community Fund, Hobart Education Foundation, Hobart Kiwanis Club and the School City of Hobart that help make this program successful year after year.

We had a triumphant Indiana Youth and Government™ (INYaG) conference in Indy this year.  Three of our delegates came home with several awards: Max Salazar-Outstanding Representative; Jack Huber-Outstanding INYaG Delegate who also received a trip to the YMCA Youth Conference on National Affairs (CONA) this summer; Elena Polizotto received an Honor Chord for participating in the program for 4 consecutive years, and one of our delegates; Donovan Ruiz will be Speaker of the House next year. A job well done to all!!

Congratulations to all of the 2019 Graduates – Best wishes for you and your next adventure!

Learn More About Youth and Government™

Youth and Government™ is a national program of the Y that involves thousands of teens nationwide in state-organized, model-government programs. Students from every corner of the U.S. have the opportunity to immerse themselves in experiential civic engagement and toquite literally, practice democracy. Teens from across every state meet in their local Youth and Government™ groups throughout the year to discuss and debate issues that affect citizens of their state and to propose legislation. The program culminates with teens serving as delegates at their state conference, debating bills on the floor of the legislature.

T-Ball & Coach Pitch Registration in Full Swing!

Step up to the plate, kiddos!

YMCA Baseball is designed to teach young baseball players the fundamentals of the game. Participants will learn how to catch, throw, and bat in a fun team atmosphere.

Co-ed Youth Sports T-ball is open for registration for children aged 3-4. Co-ed Youth Sports Coach Pitch is open for registration for children aged 5-8. The focus of the league is to have fun, meet new friends and play in a non-competitive environment. Each participant will receive a game jersey that is included into the registration fee and can be used for all other co-ed youth sports programs here at the Hobart Family YMCA.

The YMCA Difference

YMCA utilizes volunteer coaches to focus on participation and fun! While basic skills of the game are developed through practices and games, every child learns sportsmanship and values necessary to be successful in life. Every game begins with a Youth Sports Pledge and ends with a handshake.

YMCA Youth Sports Programs help kids become not only better players, but better people as well. It’s a progressive program, with multiple age-specific levels. Every child gets to play and the games are safe, exciting and fun. We encourage fair play, positive competition, and family involvement.
