Basketball Clinic for Ages 8-14!

The Hobart Family YMCA basketball clinics are for all basketball players ages 8-14 who are serious about improving their skills and elevating their game to the next level. This seasons clinic will be ran by Hobart Middle and High School basketball coaches. Participants will work on ball handling, shooting, and basketball IQ as well as strength, speed, and agility.

Clinic runs from 3/20/2020 4/17/2020

Fridays

Family Cardio Drumming is a all ages exercise class that you can improve cardio and drum along to the music. This class has wonderful benefits such as muscle toning, relieving stress, improving endurance, strengthening stabilizer muscles and enhancing overall fitness.

Mondays 5:00 – 5:30 pm starting Monday, March 2nd

Family Aquacise is a all ages aquatic exercise class that you can and your children can do together. This class is made up of various cardio and strength exercises in our indoor heated pool.

Mondays 5:15 – 6:00 pm starting Wednesday, March 4th

All Sorts of Sports

Come learn the fundamentals of an assortment of sports. This course is a great way for children ages 3-14 to find a sport that interests them. Sports that will be covered are: basketball, baseball, football, soccer, pickleball, & volleyball.

Stress Management – Thursday, February 6th

We all have stress – it is inevitable. It is how we manage it that makes a difference. When you find that stress is making you crazy or causing health problems or perhaps it is impacting your work or home life or you are getting sick a lot, then it is time to put stress in its place. In this workshop, we will take a look at ways to reduce stress and manage stress better for a happier, more workable life. I promise you will find at least two new things to try that you have not thought of before. Each participant will complete a customized plan for addressing their unique stress situation.

Home Remedies for Pain – Thursday, March 5th

Dealing with pain is difficult. Whether you have back pain, knee pain, arthritis pain, tension headaches or simply tight muscles, in this workshop you will learn safe, effective things you can do to manage and reduce your pain at home. This class will incorporate natural remedies, simple stretches as well as breathing and relaxation techniques. Taught by Certified Massage Therapist Mari J Hahn. Presenter has over 25 years of experience as a massage therapist, helping people ease and reduce their pain.

Planning Meals for Optimal Health and Energy – Thursday, April 2nd

You’ve heard the statistics: we eat healthier and less expensively when we prepare meals at home. But with busy schedules, it is hard to find time to shop and cook every day. That’s where this workshop can help. It’s all about my favorite topic – FOOD. Our food is our body’s energy source. When we make good food choices we have more energy to get through the day. In this workshop you will get ideas and tools to plan healthy, delicious meals for whoever you cook for. We will discuss batch cooking, quick and easy sides, how to get more veggies into your life, cooking methods, and even healthy dessert ideas. You will leave with a plan for one week of meals AND easy recipes PLUS ideas and tools to make great food easily at home.

Note: This class is helpful for people of all cooking skill levels. Whether you are single, cooking for one, two or a large family, this class will help you plan, shop and get ideas for choosing healthy, easy foods to boost your energy.

Your Keys to a Great Night’s Sleep – Thursday, May 7th

Good sleep is vital for our overall health and when we are sleep deprived, there are many negative impacts on our health. Many factors can impact our sleep and each person’s experience is unique. In this workshop we will take a look at some of the main culprits that keep us from getting a restful night of sleep PLUS tools and ideas to help YOU get more sleep. We will discuss everything from caffeine to insomnia to stretching to meditation and even a couple home remedies that are safe and helpful to getting good sleep. You will leave with a customized plan of action to help you get more Zzzzzzzz’s.

Partner Yoga

Saturday, Feb. 8th 2020 2:00 – 4:00 pm

Get a partner (spouse, child, friend) and join us for a class that includes meditation, yoga flow session and cool down, as well as, time for refreshments.
