With my internal visions of nature, space, and movement I try to communicate to my viewers my own strong, sad or exuberant feelings.  By layering my art and exploring varied mediums of resin, watercolor, encaustic and acrylic on paper, canvas or plastic—I release these new images.

Finding additional inspiration and discipline to move beyond intuitive painting, I studied at the University of Chicago, the Art Institute of Chicago and the Chicago Botanic Garden.  While living in Michigan, I studied with Nifodora Dhimtra Elias and had personalized instruction  with Alain Gavin, an adjunct professor at the Art Institute of Chicago, studying for more than 20 years at his studio in Evanston, Illinois, always seeking to learn and develop as an artist.

Educated in Chicago and suburban schools, I attended Roosevelt University, and Chicago State University graduating with a degree in English Literature. I taught reading, high school English, composition and literature for 27 years while raising two boys.  Creating and studying art became a liberating and fulfilling life after I retired early from teaching.

I have exhibited in many juried art shows in Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan and my work is in the corporate collections of Liberty Steel, St. Joseph, Michigan, Pfizer Corporation, Kalamazoo, Michigan, Irwin Union Bank and Trust, Columbus, Indiana, Braswell Fine Art, Chicago and Paris.

In the Midwest area, I had four large solo shows in a variety of venues before I moved to San Diego, California in 2016.

In addition, my work is held in personal collections in California, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Wisconsin.
